Grandview East Renovation

Grandview East condominium

In October 2014 Grandview East condominium came to a settlement in its lawsuit over building construction deficiencies.  The deficiencies included existing stucco, sliding glass doors, windows, and railings.  September 2015 Grandview East will close off the building for 8 months to complete these renovations to the building.

Background

In 2007 the Grandview board conducted building survey.  The survey identified defective construction including the stucco system, sliding glass doors, windows and railings.  At that point the Grandview association pursed claims through litigation.   In October of 2014, litigation ended with a settlement.

Suncoast Construction was selected to do with work Pendleton + Bowman handling the project management and oversight.  Pendleton + Bowman, Inc. also did the project management for  the Long Beach condominium restoration.

Work scheduled to be done

The restoration will include the removal and replacement of the existing stucco wall system on the majority of our building.  New sliding glass doors and windows, on all walls except the north face of the building, will be installed.   Railings will be removed and replaced.  Walkways will be recoated with a new waterproof top coat, the roof top concrete slabs will have waterproofing coating installed, and the elevator lobby windows will be sealed.

Construction Schedule

Construction is scheduled for September 7, 2015 through March 30, 2016. Owners can expect normal use of the building April 30, 2015.
